Trench 93 Discussion

Classic caches and burials in Trench 93 were all labeled as "caches" in Hicks notes. Epiclassic burials were given both burial and cache numbers. The UCLA/ASU specimen number is shown in format of 204.000001. All objects are part of the UCLA Fowler Museum of Anthropology Cerro Portezuelo Collections (Accession 204). Burial notes based upon Hicks manuscript "Excavations at Cerro Portezuelo, Basin of Mexico" (2005). The structures in Trench 93 were collectively designated by Hicks as "Complex C." ASU project members have numbered the structures in Complex C as C-1 through C-3, with successive construction episodes designated by Roman numerals, in chronological sequence. For example Str C-1-II represents the second construction episode of Structure C-1, which was the largest structure in Complex C. A map of the complex is in progress and not included here. A version is presented by Hicks (2005) in his manuscript (Figure 3-5).
